The most recent of BT Wholesale’s ‘future broadband’ showcases introduced the next generation Wholesale Broadband Managed Connect (WBMC) and IPstream Connect products to an audience of communications service providers.

WBMC and IPstream Connect are both part of the family of Connect future broadband products, due for launch during 2008. WBMC is a fully-managed, end-to-end broadband service that will eventually replace 20C IPstream and BT Central products. WBMC will deliver the cost and services benefits of working on BT’s new 21CN platform and is likely to be the core component of many providers’ future broadband services.

ON THE DAY

High levels of interest meant that this was a very well attended event, hosted by Angus Flett, BT Wholesale’s Director of Product Management. The agenda featured a series of presentations from senior BT Wholesale managers, broadband product managers and sales specialists who outlined the features, business benefits, applications and opportunities offered by WBMC and offered the opportunity to ask questions and raise issues for discussion.
 
The presentations covered:

• a technical overview of the new WBMC and IPstream Connect products
• an understanding of the business benefits they offer
• product positioning within the Connect family of broadband products
• migration options from current 20C services
• details of product trials, pricing and rollout plans

Post-event feedback indicates that customers appreciated the new information provided, the quality of open discussion and debate, and the opportunity to talk directly to BT Wholesale specialists about their future market needs.

FUTURE SHOWCASES

Further ‘future broadband’ showcase events will be held in Spring 2008, as the new Connect family products approach their final development and launch stages.
