NEW DIAGNOSTICS FORCE SPEEDS UP SDH REPAIRS
Private Circuit customers can now look forward to faster repairs on the complex SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) element of their service, following the successful pilot of a new diagnostics approach.
UPSKILLING THE TEAM
Members of BT Wholesale’s Private Circuit Diagnostic Centre teams around the UK are now being given the opportunity to extend their skills with the help of an intensive training programme and new software tools. Around 80 people have trained so

far, with members of the Centres’ 24-hour monitoring teams being first in line. It means they are able to undertake SDH fault diagnosis for the first time: a task that was previously in the hands of a small specialist team in Edinburgh.
KEEPING CUSTOMERS INFORMED
Cutting out the fault transfer process saves time, so helping to get circuits back into service more quickly. There are also important bonuses for customers in the quality of the information they now get on the status of their repairs, as they are able to deal directly with the people who have analysed the problem and instigated the solution for them.
